If you don't like this album you're doing it wrong. This ain't your high school Brand New, and it's fantastic.
  • Perfection

I never cease to be amazed by the way they're able to make each and every album unique. Each has a different feel and I've always been eager to see what's coming next. Daisy absolutely does not disappoint. Yeah it's not Deja or The Devil and God, but that's the point, BN continues to deliver a unique album each time. Every album by them is a must have in my opinion, and this one deserves attention. Love them and I love this album.

Great cd. The devil and God is their finest work but this doesn't trail too far behind.

Is this supposed to be music? It hardly is at best, and I just don't get it.
  • It's different.

I never cared for Brand New(don't stab me guys) But I really enjoyed this album. I get why people are upset, but it has gotten to a wider audience. So if you're not a big fan before this album is for you.
  • Almost 5 years later….

Almost 5 years later and I still adore this album. It really bothers me that this album gets so much flack from Brand New “fans.” In my personal opinion, "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me” is Brand New’s best album (and imo one of the best albums ever) but “Daisy” is very good. The problem is that people expect Brand New to release another album that sounds like “Your Favorite Weapon” or “Deja Entendu,” and that’s just not realistic. Not with this band anyway. One of the greatest things about Brand New is the fact that they actually try to break boundaries. They won’t be pigeonholed into any genre, and they make sure that doesn’t happen by evolving with each subsequent record. There are songs on “Deja” that probably would’ve worked on “YFW” and there are songs from “Daisy” that probably would’ve worked on “Devil and God,” but there are no songs from “Daisy” that would have worked with “Deja” or “YFW.” I truly believe that the soaring, distorted, guitars and screaming vocals of “Daisy” are the obvious progression of it’s predecessor, “The Devil and God.” I realize that this review may be a little bit irrelevant considering that the album will be 5 years old in less than a week, but it bothers me that it receives poor reviews from people clamoring for Deja part II. If an album has a 4 1/2 star average on iTunes and you’re giving it 1 or 2 stars, you might be missing something. My best advice would be to listen to every Brand New record as if it were a brand new band. That’s what I try to do. I definitely know what it’s like to lose interest in a band because they change their sound, but I honestly believe Brand New have done the opposite of what many bands end up doing. They’ve ditched the poppy sound for something more obscure (and at times abrasive) but I think that’s good. I love “Deja,” (I like YFW) but I am in love with what they did on “The Devil and God” and “Daisy.” It is amazingly refreshing, and even though they have mentioned they may try to go down a completely different road on their new album (whenever it comes out) I will be equally refreshed because they are pushing boundaries with their music. Brand New is music without restraints. They are no longer a pop/punk group from Long Island, New York, they are simply a music group from Long Island, New York. If you are expecting them to make another “punky” album, you may want to give up. It could happen, but it’s looking less likely every time they release new music, or go on tour. Lately they’re tour setlists mostly consist of songs from their latter two albums mixed with 3-4 songs from Deja, and 1-2 songs from YFW. It would appear that they are done making that kind of music. Anything is possible, but Brand New aren’t likely reopening the door they closed on their past.
  • Pure Awesome

I've been a huge Brand New fan for a long time Nd yes YFW and Déjà are great albums in their own right, but TDAGARIM and Daisy are by far Brand News best albums. The Devil and God every song just crushes. And ends with the dark Handcuffs. Well Daisy is The Devil and God turned up to 11! Every song just tears your face off. And even though Vin wrote this album Jesse makes it his own. I'm a big fan of experimental music and even when playing guitar I get a little crazy so this album speaks to me. Daisy is a masterpiece and I can't wait for the new album. When listening to Brand New you can't measure them against any other band they are their own thing. Going into Daisy with that in mind will definitely make you appreciate what it is.
