  • Consider me a new fan

Clearly I have been missing out on this great band. What a compelling album. I've been overwhelmed with how good this one is, and i am not easily impressed.
  • Amazing - reward multiple listens

Really a GREAT album - not for any single track, but the sonic landscape - a real ALBUM and also great tracks. Highly recommended - this is a fantastic offering from Spoon! As good as any other album!
  • Yes!

I heard these guys live at a musical festival, and instantly bought this album. This album grooves and swaggers along without ever taking itself too seriously. A bundle of fun. So glad I heard them at this festival; I am officially fan, and will probably buy another album of theirs.

First two times through I enjoyed this album but it just didn't keep my interest after that.
  • Long Time Austin Band

    By Traviarch
I'm a bit surprised this band is capable of producing such a new, energized and simply put, amazing album after all these years. Kudos to the whole band. I love this album, thank you Spoon for your artistry.
  • Finally, Spoons masterpiece

    By Timmmay82
It's been listening pleasure to hear this band progress over the years to what is finally their masterpiece, an emotional start to finish with a production value and complexity not seen in any previous album. It shows maturity and vast studio time invested.

  • the most experimental album since transference

I think most people would probably name gagaga, gimme fiction, and they want my soul if someone asked them to name the best spoon album. i'd agree with any one of those picks too. however, its albums like tranference and hot thoughts that keep spoon intriguing. while they want my soul was much more refined and consistent, hot thoughts has some inspired moments that make up for some inconsistencies. whisperilllistentohearit and do i have to talk you into it are two of the best songs spoon has ever released. pink up and us are two of the most daring. and i aint the one stands out. for some reason spoon named the album after the worst song on the album but other than that and a few shifts from experimental to classic spoon, this is a good album.
